New Enerbase Store-A Mixture of Old & New

Your gas gauge is bouncing on empty, and so is your stomach. You’re headed down South Broadway and out of the corner of your eye you see the answer, the new Enerbase Convenience store located at 1809 South Broadway.
From the outside the new store might seem pretty prototypical, but it is far from the ordinary.

You stop at the gas pumps and within seconds two employees appear and what? They offer to pump your gas. Gotta cost a lot more, right? Nope, same price for gas as all the other stations in the area offer. Full service gas stations? They went out with car hops about 50 years ago. “Yeah, we get some strange looks when we offer to pump their gas for them” according to Ricky Aberle, CEO of Enerbase “and then when we offer to wash their windshield, and check their oil, everyone thinks they are paying extra, but they aren’t.

Your car seems pretty well taken care of, so you head to the convenience store, where you take a quantum leap in technology. According to Aberle “before you enter the store, you have your credit card electronically scanned. When you walk through the entrance turn stiles, you are assigned a color, but the cameras overhead.” Say that again…everyone has a color? “Yep that’s how you are monitored in store. Anything you pick up, and retain, goes on the credit card when you leave the store.” So, gas, coffee, chips, and breath mints, they are all charged to my card? “Yeah, it’s really easy continues Aberle, and accurate. If you put something back, before you leave the store, you don’t get charged.”

A little research convinced me that these stores are not a thing of the future, instead, they are here and now. Very common in airports, bus depots and of course gas stops. Enerbase has taken the technology and leveraged it with the full service gas stop to give you everything you need in one stop. Cold out- don’t want to leave your car- the Enerbase staff will be there to fill your tank.

Can you imagine? You drive up, give the command to fill ‘er up, and while you are at it, can you check the oil and wash the windows. While your gas is being pumped, you make the short trip to the store, grab a few items and a hot cup of coffee. No hassle or long lines at the checkout. Into your car and on your way. Can it be so simple?

If you are one of those “show me” type folks, give it a try. The new Enerbase Convenient Store, and car wash of course, located at 1809 South Broadway.
