Minot State Athletics will honor all members of the military – active duty, guard, reserve, retired, veteran, and their spouse/dependent – with free admission to any regular season Minot State athletic contest for the remainder of the 2023-24 year.
“We are grateful for the men and women who serve or have served in any capacity,” said Janna McKechnie, Minot State’s Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations. “The Minot Air Force Base and Minot State University have a long history of collaboration and have always been great community partners. This is another opportunity to build on that foundation and give our service men and women something to do in town. We hope they pack the stands.”

The partnership between Minot State and the military – and specifically with Minot Air Force Base – goes way beyond athletics:

  1. Minot State educates the most active-duty military students in ND (evidenced by Tuition Assistance data: TADECIDE)
  2. Minot State is the only campus providing in person courses on Minot Air Force Base
  3. Minot State has no application fee for active-duty military students
  4. Minot State offers a dedicated Military Resource Center to help guide students through their educational journey.
  5. Minot State offers $5 off tickets to Minot Symphony Orchestra and MSU Summer Theatre for Active-Duty military members
