Local Amateur Radio Enthusiasts to Host Annual Field Day Event
Minot,ND — The Souris Valley Amateur Radio Club is excited to announce its participation in
the annual Amateur Radio Field Day event, taking place on June 22-23 outdoors near the Magic City Discovery Center. This event is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity to learn
about amateur radio, see it in action, and even get on the air. Event will start at 10am on Saturday, and end at 3pm on Sunday.
Field Day is an annual event organized by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) to
promote emergency communication skills and foster community engagement in amateur radio.  It is the most popular on-the-air event held annually in the U.S. and Canada, with over 40,000
operators participating.  “We’re thrilled to welcome the community to our Field Day event,” said Ralph Fettig, president of
the Souris Valley Amateur Radio Club. “It’s a great way to learn about the hobby, meet new
people, and see the critical role amateur radio can play in emergency situations.”
The event is free and open to all ages. Whether you’re a seasoned radio operator or just curious
about the world of amateur radio, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
