Bryleigh McBride

Minot North Columnist

Bryleigh McBride is a sophomore at Minot North High School. She is the Minot North Columnist
for Northern Sentry, while also covering local events. Her favorite moments come from
interviews, where she turns conversations into lasting connections that resonate with readers.

Outside of journalism, Bryleigh is a leader in STEM as Head Media Manager for the FRC
robotics team, Syber Sentinels, and Captain of the FTC robotics team, Spare Parts. She was
selected as an FTC Dean’s List Finalist. She documents robot builds, manages outreach, and
collaborates with her teammates to understand every system, bringing both creativity and
strategy to the lab. To turn weaknesses into expertise within her robotics teams, she has been
learning Python and building small projects in her free time that she hopes will benefit her
community.

Bryleigh’s dedication doesn’t end there. She is the sophomore class Student Council President,
President of Keystone Club, TSA Secretary and national competitor, a member of FBLA, DECA,
Speech, Student Congress, National Honor Society, and a Minot North Varsity Golfer. She is
also an active musician, performing on bassoon for concert band, playing clarinet for pep band,
and playing piano and tenor sax in her school’s jazz band.

During the summer months, she volunteers and gardens for The Lord’s Cupboard Food Pantry,
travels the world with her family, and cherishes time spent at her family’s lake house.
At home, Bryleigh balances life with a golden retriever, a lion head bunny, and a flock of
chickens. She also enjoys crocheting, reading, and experimenting with creative projects
whenever she can. She plans to major in systems engineering and minor in music and
business.
