Honoring Our Minot AFB Graduates: A Celebration of Resilience and Achievement

A heartfelt salute was given to 65 military-affiliated high school seniors this month, as they were honored with purple graduation cords and certificates, celebrating their unique journeys as part of military families. Thanks to the generous support of the Minot AFB Spouses Club, these purple cords symbolize the strength and resilience of students who have often changed schools six to nine times throughout their academic careers.

On May 14th, special recognition ceremonies were held at both Minot North High School, in the Minot North High School Auditorium, and Minot High School, in the Minot Area Workforce Academy. Minot Public Schools graciously hosted the events, where 5th Mission Support Group Commander, Colonel Ottinger, and Alyssa Kelly, School Liaison Program Manager at Minot AFB, addressed the students and their families. Their presence underscored the importance of honoring the sacrifices and accomplishments of these graduating seniors.
Additionally, military-affiliated seniors from Glenburn Public School and local homeschool programs were recognized last month at the Minot AFB Spouses Club Scholarship Banquet, ensuring no student was left uncelebrated.

“We salute you and thank you for serving alongside your parents,” said the Minot AFB School Liaison Office. “May your journeys ahead be filled with dreams and accomplishments!”
