MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. —
Gen. Thomas Bussiere, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, and Chief Master Sgt. Shawn Aiello, the command chief of AFGSC, visited Minot Air Force Base to personally thank Airmen March 27 and 28, 2025.

“Thank you for your discipline, professionalism, and demonstration of your deep understanding for your mission,” Bussiere said to Minot AFB Airmen.
Bussiere emphasized the strategic importance of the everyday mission at Minot AFB, noting that is the only installation to host two legs of the nation’s nuclear triad between the 5th Bomb Wing and the 91st Missile Wing.

“You perform the nation’s most important mission,” he said to both wings. “And while what you do every day is not easy, your astounding performance gives great confidence to our nation’s leadership and the American public that you are ready.”

Aiello echoed this sentiment and personally thanked Minot AFB Airmen for keeping his family safe by providing surety, safety, and reliability. American families rest assured because Warbirds and Rough Riders remain ready, he said.

After individually recognizing superior performers from both wings, Bussiere acknowledged the teamwork that underpins the successful operations at Minot AFB.

“It takes a team comprised of great leaders and technical expertise, regardless of your job, in order to perform at a high caliber of excellence… and it is evident you all perform as a team,” Bussiere said.

In closing, Bussiere reminded the Airmen that: “There is no more important a base in the Department of Defense than Minot Air Force Base.” He then asked Airmen of both wings to “go home tonight and thank your significant others and your families for all they do to support and enable your service to our Air Force and nation.”
