February Squadron of the Month-705th Munitions Squadron

The 5th Bomb Wing Command team would like to congratulate the 705th Munitions Squadron on being selected as February Squadron of the Month.

The 705th Munitions Squadron, known as “SHOCKWAVE,” plays a vital role in supporting the missions of both the 91st Missile Wing and the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base. Over the last quarter, SHOCKWAVE achieved remarkable success, including the execution of Exercise GLOBAL THUNDER ‘25 and two nuclear inspections, all while managing the Air Force’s largest active nuclear stockpile and enabling a near 100% ICBM Alert Rate.
More recently, their expertise was pivotal in coordinating and completing multiple Department of Energy logistical operations, encompassing both ground and air missions. Additionally, in collaboration with sister agencies and the Wing Inspector General, SHOCKWAVE executed a unique Special Assignment Airlift Training Exercise, further enhancing the Wings’ capabilities to sustain their nuclear missions.

The unwavering dedication and excellence of SHOCKWAVE Airmen remains essential to maintaining the credibility of the United States’ nuclear deterrence threat, ensuring its effectiveness for generations to come.
