The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Team (ADAPT) is collaborating with the Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW) to host an informational event here on Minot AFB. This event is called ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE and will be both interactive as well as informative. The ADAPT and the IPPW teams hope to spread awareness about an important issue many adults -especially Airmen- are facing today. The issue is alcohol use and misuse.

Many people do not truly understand the effects alcohol can have on them. The ADAPT team and the IPPW are using this event to promote more education about alcohol use and misuse as well as to promote alcohol prevention and alcohol awareness. The ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE event will have interactive activities like wearing beer goggles then driving while “inebriated” or trying to score a soccer goal while wearing the beer goggles. The games will show you firsthand how drinking can affect so many different things.

The point of this event is to help you understand what a drink can really do. There will be food and prizes as well as tables from other base agencies set up with more information. This event is for active-duty members, spouses, civilians, and anyone who is 18 years or older. With April being the month of alcohol awareness, this event is the perfect opportunity to get better educated on alcohol misuse as well as get to safely experience how alcohol can impair you. Join the APAPT and IPPW teams Friday April 26th from 1000-1400 at the Turf.
