October Squadron of the Month

Minot Operational Medical Readiness Squadron

“Fultum Validum Aptare.” This is the motto of the Minot Operational Medical Readiness Squadron. This premier medical team consists of 160 officers, enlisted, and civilians across 9 primary care and support flights. The motto translates to “Strength, Wellness, Readiness”, and acts as a north star to the medical professionals providing safe, patient-centered care for the base’s 5,700 service members. The squadron’s diverse mission sets span the full spectrum of operational medicine and readiness. These include the Personnel Reliability Assurance Program, Warrior Medicine, Mental Health, Optometry, Physical Therapy, Health Promotion, Dental, Bioenvironmental Engineering, Public Health, and Flight Medicine. The squadron also partners with the Army to deliver care to our military working dogs and privately owned animals through the installation Veterinary Services team.

Originally activated as the 5th Medical Operations Squadron in 1994, the unit underwent a reorganization in 2019 and its name changed to the 5th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron once the Defense Health Agency stood up one of its many Defense Health Networks. Now under the Air Force Medical Command, the unit has been redesignated as the Minot Operational Medical Readiness Squadron. The name designation has changed once more, but the excellence-driven mission continues as it has for many years.

With a new name comes a new squadron chant, “Missiles and Bombers….CALL YOUR MOMRS!” This chant symbolizes the dedication and ownership that the MOMRS medics have for both the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing! It is an honor and privilege to provide medical care to the men and women of Minot AFB and our team looks forward to supporting both wings well into the future.
