This week, we’re proud to introduce Chief Michael “Chief E” Erickson, a familiar face and invaluable member of the Minot AFB Fire & Emergency Services family!

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Chief E began his fire service career with the U.S. Forest Service in Colorado 30 years ago, where he developed a strong foundation in wildland firefighting. He later joined the Vail Fire Department, working as a firefighter and gaining invaluable experience that would shape his career.

Chief E eventually enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, continuing his passion for serving others through fire and emergency services. Along the way, he has also served at Mountain Home AFB and Offutt AFB, before ultimately finding his way back to what has become his forever home here at Minot AFB.

Recently promoted to GS-9 Station Chief, Chief E serves on B Shift, where his years of experience and knowledge are an incredible asset to our department.

One of Chief E’s greatest contributions is the impact he has on our firefighters—especially the many new firefighters coming through our doors. His experience, expertise, and willingness to share what he has learned throughout his career make him an invaluable mentor and instructor. He brings a wealth of real-world fire service knowledge to every training opportunity.

Outside of the fire station, Chief E is also heavily involved in the Minot hockey community, continuing his commitment to supporting the community he calls home.
