5th Munitions Squadron

The 5th Bomb Wing Command team would like to congratulate the 5th Munitions Squadron (5 MUNS) on being selected as May’s Squadron of the Month.

For this year, the 5 MUNS performed 545 explosive operations ensuring the assembly and delivery of 207 munitions supporting 901 flight hours and 180 combat training sorties for the Wing’s Flying Program.

5 MUNS also participated in Exercise Global Thunder by providing critical data for the Crisis Action Team’s Leadership for 64 load crew personnel and 552 nuclear loading and downloading operations.

Finally, in sub-zero temperatures, they accomplished 3,000 inspections and delivered all required munitions on time for use in support of real-world operations.

The 5 MUNS continues to power through a demanding schedule to maintain peak operational readiness.
