Minot North basketball faced a challenging slate of games over the past week as both the boys and girls teams continued early-season play against strong competition.
The Sentinels boys team opened the week on the road, falling to Turtle Mountain Community 66–54 on December 12. Minot North stayed competitive throughout the contest but struggled to overcome Turtle Mountain’s scoring runs. The following night, the Sentinels returned home to face Grand Forks Central, where they dropped a 75–61 decision. Despite the loss, Minot North showed improved offensive flow and effort as multiple players contributed on the scoreboard.
On the girls side, Minot North delivered an impressive performance, earning an 85–46 victory over Grand Forks Central on December 13. The Sentinels controlled the game from the opening tip, using strong defense and balanced scoring to pull away early and secure the decisive win.
As the season continues, Minot North will look to build off the week’s experiences, sharpening execution and consistency as conference play approaches. With plenty of basketball ahead, the Sentinels remain focused on growth and improvement.
