A True Northern Tradition: CPKC Holiday Train Coming to Minot Dec. 18!

The 2025 CPKC Holiday Train will tour Canada and the U.S. Nov. 19 through Dec. 21, raising money, food and awareness to support food banks across our network. Professional musicians play free concerts from the brightly decorated train’s stage. CPKC donates to the local food bank at each stop and encourages all attendees to make a monetary or heart-healthy food donation. Canadian Pacific Railway photo

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train is rolling into Minot this holiday season! Now in its 27th year, the brightly lit train brings live music, holiday cheer, and community giving to towns across Canada and the U.S.
This festive event raises money and food donations for local food banks, helping families in need during the holidays. Since it began in 1999, the Holiday Train has collected over $26 million and 5.4 million pounds of food for communities along its route.

Time: 6:45–7:15 p.m.
Location: 10 Main Street North, downtown Minot (near the Depot)
Performers: Lanco and Tiera Kennedy
The event is free, but everyone is encouraged to bring a monetary or non-perishable food donation for the local food bank.

About the Holiday Train
This year’s Holiday Train will feature 196 live music shows across six provinces and 13 U.S. states. Thirteen new communities will welcome the train for the first time.
A new light display will also honor the legacy of “Rudy” and the retired Kansas City Southern Holiday Express, which served the U.S. South for nearly 25 years.
