Minot’s biggest and boldest breast cancer awareness event, Double D-Haw, has outdone itself once again. The beloved local fundraiser celebrated a record-breaking year in 2025, donating an impressive $30,000 to the Trinity Health Foundation to support breast cancer detection and treatment at Trinity Health.
Since its inception, Double D-Haw has become a cornerstone of community generosity and fun. Over the past four years, the event has raised nearly $80,000, successfully reaching its long-term goal of helping Trinity Health purchase the Brevera Breast Biopsy System. The state-of-the-art equipment now provides faster, more accurate biopsy results and helps reduce discomfort and anxiety for patients undergoing needle biopsies.
According to Dusty Zimmerman, Director of the Trinity Health Foundation, Double D-Haw has been a vital partner in advancing women’s health in the region. “For years, Double D-Haw has been both an incredible event and partner in the fight against breast cancer,” Zimmerman said. “Their passion and generosity have helped us continually enhance breast cancer detection and treatment at Trinity Health. This $30,000 gift reflects a continued commitment to our community and to the patients we serve.”
Organizers say the success of the 2025 event which was hosted at The Blue Riders is just the beginning. With the Brevera system now in use, Double D-Haw is setting its sights on an even more ambitious goal for 2026: raising funds to purchase a Trident Radiography System. This portable imaging tool allows surgeons to capture clear, detailed images of breast cancer margins during surgery, improving precision and reducing time under anesthesia.
Executive Director ShaunAnne Tangney is already rallying supporters for the next big milestone. “Consider this: what if we could double our 2025 fundraising total?” Tangney said. “Imagine how much good we could do with a $60,000 donation in 2026!”
And for Minot residents, that means one thing, the ultimate block party is coming back. Known for its lively atmosphere, Double D-Haw combines community spirit with unforgettable fun: the famous seafood boil, colossal Bloody Marys, a high-energy auction, a street dance, and an after-party that keeps downtown buzzing.
As always, the mission behind the party is simple but powerful, to “kick breast cancer’s butt.”
