October Squadron of the Month-23rd Bomber Generation Squadron

The 5th Bomb Wing Command team would like to congratulate the 23rd Bomber Generation Squadron (23 BGS) on being selected as October’s Squadron of the Month. The 23 BGS returned from their Bomber Task Force (BTF) mission in Guam, in support of Exercise RESOLUTE FORCE PACIFIC. The Barons strengthened deterrence, fostered interoperability, maintained readiness and reinforced the Wing’s ability to operate anytime, anywhere. Shortly after returning, the squadron provided a brief respite from the busy operations tempo by bringing together family and friends to a Summer Bash!

This event catered to over 500 Airmen and dependents with engaging games and activities from the recreation center, and even a dunk tank where the 23 BGS Commander took the plunge, providing plenty of laughs for all. Finally, the 23 BGS recognized 18 Dedicated Crew Chiefs, reflecting immense responsibility and direct ownership for their specific aircraft which is a proud tradition in aircraft maintenance. Amidst the fun, the mission never stops. The 23 BGS continues to power through a demanding schedule to maintain peak operational readiness.
