Minot North Sports Roundup: Golf Qualifies for State, Football Wins Homecoming, and More

The fall season continues to be a busy one for Minot North athletics, with big performances and exciting moments across multiple sports this past week. From the golf course to the gridiron, Sentinel athletes are making their mark.

On the course, the Minot North girls’ golf team secured a spot at the state tournament with a strong second-place finish at the WDA Championship. Leading the way was standout golfer Emersyn Kopp, who carded an impressive 77 to place second individually. Not far behind was teammate Kinzy, who shot a 78 to earn 4th place overall. In addition to the team’s success, Ally Larson and Abby Speer punched their individual tickets to state by shooting an 87 and 89, respectively. With four golfers advancing, the Sentinels will look to continue their momentum on the state stage.

Meanwhile, the Minot North football team gave Sentinel Nation plenty to cheer about during homecoming week. Under the Friday night lights, the team delivered a 28–7 victory over the Spartans, dominating on both sides of the ball. The win electrified the packed homecoming crowd and added another chapter to the growing tradition of Sentinel football.

On the courts, the boys’ tennis team faced a tough challenge against the Braves, ultimately falling 2–7. Despite the loss, the team showed grit and determination in several close matches, proving that their development and competitiveness continue to build as the season progresses.

In the pool, the Minot North girls’ swim team competed at the Minot Invite, where they finished 6th out of 6 teams with a total of 197 points. While the scoreboard didn’t reflect the effort, the meet gave the swimmers valuable experience against some of the strongest competition in the region. The team continues to gain momentum as they look toward the final stretch of their season.

With multiple sports making headlines in the same week, Minot North athletes are showing that Sentinel pride runs deep. Whether it’s clinching a spot at state, celebrating a homecoming win, or battling hard against tough opponents, the Sentinels are leaving it all on the course, field, court, and pool.
