As colder temperatures begin to settle in, Minot High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter is taking action to support families in need across the community. The student-led organization is hosting a Winter Clothing Drive from September 15th to September 20th, with the goal of collecting new and gently used winter apparel for children and families facing the upcoming season without winter essentials.
FBLA is seeking donations of new or clean, gently used items such as winter coats, gloves, hats, scarves, snow boots, and other cold-weather gear. These items will be distributed to families during a special, one-day event designed to replicate a fun and dignified shopping experience, which is completely free of charge.
The shopping-style event will take place after the collection period ends and will be open to any families in the community who need winter gear. All items will be organized and displayed to allow families to choose what best fits their needs.
The FBLA chapter is calling on residents of Minot and the surrounding areas to check their closets and consider donating any gently used winter items or shopping for items that could help another family.
Their goal is to make sure no child or family goes without the essentials this winter. Even the smallest donation can make a big difference.
Community members seeking more information are encouraged to contact the FBLA advisor, Lisa Wolf, at lisa.wolf@minot.k12.nd.us.
Let’s come together and spread warmth, love, and kindness all around Minot.
