North Plains Elementary Book Bliss Art Show

Dr. Amanda Capote, PhD

Color, creativity, and imagination were on full display during the North Plains Elementary Book Bliss Art Show on April 17, 2025. This event featured artwork from all our students grades K-5, transforming each hallway into a book or author that inspired them. Kindergarten created work from the well known child author Eric Carle, displaying Very Hungry Caterpillars, Brown Bears, and so much more. First grade took on the huge task of creating art from Dr. Suess, to include a complete entryway to Seussville. If you like weather, 2nd grade was definitely the hallway to see!

Thunderstorms complete with lightning, illuminated the ceiling as you walked through! Maybe weather is not your thing, well if you went down the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade hallway you were indulged with artwork that covered all the amazing things about Spring, the incredible author Peter Reynolds, and Little House on the Prairie. The final hallway was a collection of work dedicated to the book, Never Play Music Right Next to the Zoo, by author: John Lithgow. Snakes, Tigers, Bears, and Penguins could be seen down the hallway in a chaotic frenzy to play instruments from the Orchestra!

This show is a celebration of our students’ creativity and growth and it is incredible to see how proud they are to showcase their work and share that with not only their parents, but the community. Parents and guests strolled through the hallways of colorful displays, taking pictures and sharing the excitement with their children-a moment their child will probably never forget. North Plains Elementary takes pride in our annual Art Show as it provides a space for every student to feel seen and celebrated for their creative efforts. I cannot wait to see what the students create next year!
