Bielanski at Main Street Books: Get Ready to Laugh and Sing!

A toe-tapping good time and a whimsical and fun new band are coming to Minot from Charlotte, North Carolina. Bryan Bielanski, an acoustic rock singer-songwriter is scheduled to perform on Thursday, July 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Main Street Books.
This will be Bryan’s first time performing in Minot, and he’s looking forward to it! He’s been performing since he was a teenager and has been touring nationally and internationally full time since 2012. Besides guitar, he plays the harmonica and the kazoo at his concerts. On his studio albums, he plays the bass guitar, drums, and percussion. His Bob Dylan-like singing and happy-go-lucky songs are a big part of what makes him stand out from other musicians.

His music has been described as “Nirvana meets the Beatles,” “Buddy Holly and Weird Al Yankovic,” or “Buddy Holly meets the Ramones.” His other influences of musical genres are folk, country and classical music.

Bryan grew up in a family of music lovers. His mom, dad, and sister played records every day. Good music was always a very important part of his life. Once he took up the guitar and started performing live, the experience was so exhilarating that he wanted to dedicate his life to performing.

Bryan’s performances are energetic and upbeat. The sincerity of his lyrics is what makes him remarkable. He takes ordinary places, characters from video games, fantasy characters and merges them with the everyday world. For example, in his song “Rock the Library, U.S.A.,” he sings about a library and a girl with lyrics that makes the listener smile. People enjoy his humor and light-heartedness in his songs. His shows are family and kid friendly.

The Super Happy Fun Time Show is a unique experience because there aren’t many singer-songwriters that write songs with straightforward, funny, and uplifting lyrics, and fans of his music enjoy the intensity, conviction of the performance, and the overall positive vibes of his shows. It’s no surprise then that his new album is titled Bryan’s Super Happy Fun Time 3. He decided to title three of his albums Bryan’s Super Happy Fun Time because he says, “a lot of people get stressed out about things going on in the world and everyone should take a minute to reflect on the good things in life, smile and have a good time. I hope my music can be a soundtrack for folks taking a break from the things that worry them.” In 2016, Bryan’s album “United States of Angwish” reached #89 on the weighted CMJ charts.

At the concert, Bryan’s albums, t-shirts, and stickers will be available for sale. The entrance fee to the concert is based on a sliding scale from 5-15 dollars. A sliding scale means that people/families across a wide range of incomes can attend because the fee is based on what the attendees are able to afford. So, take a break from the hot summer sun and come to Main Street Books, which is sponsored by The Red Willow Collective, on Thursday, July 18 at 7:00 p.m. to relax and listen to Bryan’s excellent music. He is ready to entertain you!
