The Task Force for Military Issues in North Dakota (TF MIND) met in December for a 2025-29 strategic planning session. TF MIND is chaired by Lt. Gov. Tammy Miller and is served by ten other members, including local, state, and military leaders.
TF MIND was created to establish a statewide strategic process to ensure the continued relevance of the military forces, bases and mission within our state. They examine current military challenges, anticipate future military opportunities, provide a framework to help the ND Dept. of Commerce in administering funds and propose policy that improves North Dakota’s status as “military friendly,” while serving as an informational conduit on military matters for national-level military leaders and elected ND State officials.
Pictured with the TF MIND members at the meeting is the Barksdale Trophy, an honor that is awarded for outstanding support to an Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) base. Due to leadership at all levels, including North Dakota congressional representatives in Washington, D.C., to state and local leadership, this collaborative effort brought this trophy home to our “military-friendly” state and we are so thankful for the partnership and support that made it possible.
