Spring Discover Minot Excursion

Written by: Erin Beene, Northern Sentry

The spring Discover Minot Excursion was held on Tuesday, April 25. A group of military members and dependents hopped on a bus at Minot AFB and explored all that the city of Minot has to offer.

This quarterly event, hosted by the Northern Sentry and Minot Downtown Business and Professional Association, allows Minot AFB residents the chance to find out why they “might not hate it here after all” by discovering the joy, unique quirks and hidden gems that make Minot a fantastic assignment.

Every tour has a unique factor that makes it stand out and to encourage repeat guests. This specific tour featured a sneak peek of the behind the scenes operation of the not-yet opened Magic City Discovery Center! Attendees were able to investigate and have hands-on experience testing out the Discovery Center’s exhibits on sounds, movement, art and much more! The group also enjoyed a full and hearty lunch from Jamaican Vybz Kitchen and spent time shopping downtown.
The next Discover Minot Excursion is set for mid July. It will be a slightly more upscale evening event as tour goers will spend the first portion of the tour at Urban Winery doing a wine walk. Keep an eye out for more details coming soon.
