Earth day is a very important day to show that we care for the earth. There are many ways to celebrate. Lots of people reduce, reuse, and recycle. Some people limit how much water, or energy they use. Others plant trees. The reason of this day is because a Wisconsin senator was concerned about the Earth, so he went to tell President John F. Kennedy and told him we need to do something, and he agreed. Later, on April 22, 1970, the first ever Earth Day was hosted. Earth Day did not become an international holiday until 1990.

The average American produces 4 pounds of trash every day! All that trash goes into a landfill. In a landfill trash gets buried. If there is no more room, it goes in the ocean! :-[ . Sometimes they even put it in space! There are even “islands” made out trash! Pollution is another problem. This makes air and water dirty. It also causes global warming, and even acid rain! Global warming is when the earth warms up, it causes ice to melt which makes floods, and polar animals to become endangered. Some other ways you can help is by using metal water bottles, recycling, and reusing.
So, save the Earth! It’s the only one we’ve got!
